Every boat taking part in the race needs to have a unique sail number on her sails at the size and position specified in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS). This is not a minor administrative detail! The Race Committee needs your sail number to record your finishing position and to identify you on the race course - and it could be critical in a search and rescue situation.
